Damaged bin repair or replacementBrisbane City Council will repair damaged bins for free. It is recommended that you don't make any temporary repairs and leave the bin in the usual pick up point.
From Monday 7 November, Council is gradually replacing the dark green/grey refuse bin lids with red ones, according to the Australian Standard for waste bins. If your refuse bin lid needs replacing or you require a new bin, the new bin lid will be red.
Bin repairsBefore you request repairs to your bin, you must:
- put the bin outside the property on the footpath - contractors are not allowed to carry repairs inside or on private property
- leave the bin there until it is repaired or replaced
You can continue to use the bin while it is awaiting repair or replacement.
Contact Council to get your bin repaired. It will be repaired as soon as possible. Stolen binsBefore you contact Council about replacing your stolen bin, make sure your neighbour hasn’t taken your bin by mistake.
