The residents on Tamborine Mountain create around 300 scarecrows which are displayed over a 14 km trail around the mountain, outside homes, businesses and alongside the road.
The trail takes visitors past wonderful scenery, rain forests, parks, art galleries, restaurants, wineries, brewery, cheese factory, gift and craft shops. The trail opens Friday afternoon with judging of entries.
Saturday the fun is in Main St, with dancers, buskers, street performers, kids pavilion, bands and to end - The Big Parade - WOW don't miss it. Sunday the entertainment relocates to the iconic Gallery Walk on Long Road, the premier tourist centre on the mountain. Also all weekend you can visit the recreation of an authentic viking camp, with its crafts, warriors, maidens and traditions.
Great food, local wines and brewed before your very eyes, beers plus lots of festival specials and the Count the number of Scarecrows Competition. It's fun for everyone, so if you are coming to stay for the weekend (and why not) book early.
