Australian Bollywood star Tania Zaetta will be starring at PortsideWharf for the festivities of Bollywood on the Wharf - a four daycelebration of everything Bollywood. The nationally touring 2008 IndianFilm Festival will also be running at DENDY Portside, 16-19 October.
From Bollywood makeovers to the sari wearing challenge, PortsideWharf will come alive with the vibrant colours and spicy fragrances ofIndia as a jam packed program of Indian music, film and dance rolls out.
Over the four days the Indian Film Festival will showcase the bestof Indian cinema and the glitz of the entertainment phenomenonBollywood, while Bollywood on the Wharf will give visitors the chanceto experience Indian culture first hand through a huge variety ofentertainment such as Bollywood dance lessons and live music.
Hosted by Tania, opening night of the Festival Thursday 16 October,will be a feast of fine Indian cuisine by Mint Indian Gourmet and thegala screening of Taare Zameen Par (Stars on Earth) the directorialdebut from Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan. Celebrations will continuewell into the night for the after party at Byblos Bar.
Friday night 17 October DJ Desi from Club Masti, Brisbane’s leadingBollywood Bhangra Club, will be mixing the latest Indian tracks todance to and leading the way in true Bollywood style.
The movie program will continue through Saturday showing thedelightful family fantasy/drama Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic, a stunninghistorical epic Jodhaa Akbar and Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, a classicBollywood romantic comedy full of singing, dancing and of course anIndian wedding!
Bollywood on the Wharf will conclude Sunday 19 October with anIndian market. From 10am - 4pm Portside Wharf will transform in to alively marketplace selling authentic spices, Bollywood bling, IndianCuisine and Indian Beer.
