A MAN has appeared in court after a gruesome brawl on a Sunnybank overpass in which three men suffered stab wounds.
Roakumay Lay, 28, fronted Brisbane Magistrate John McGrath this morning under police guard, charged with three counts of attempted murder and three counts of wounding. Lay was dressed in watchhouse browns and had bloody cuts and bruising on his face. Defence solicitor Adam Magill made no application for bail. The matter was adjourned until February 13. Lay's alleged co-offender, Alvin Diaz Tacorda, 25, is due in court this afternoon. Police have charged a second man in relation to the assault. A 25-year-old Calamvale man is due to face Brisbane Magistrates Court on January 19, charged with attempted murder and unlawful wounding. Police said that up to 10 people were involved in the incident on a footbridge above Mains Roadabout 6.15pm Tuesday.
A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson said three patients taken to the Princess Alexandra hospital with puncture wounds were in a stable condition.
Another man was taken to the Royal Brisbane Hospital with facial injuries and is in a stable condition.
