A MAN has died after being thrown from his utility and becoming pinned between the vehicle and a tree on a property south-west of Brisbane.
It is unclear for how long the man was trapped before his body was discovered by a neighbour on the farm at Darlington, south of Beaudesert.
Police said it appeared the 42-year-old drove off the track and rolled down a steep embankment.
He set out in the ute just after 6pm but the crash was not discovered until about 8.50pm, an officer said.
Because of the rugged terrain, his body was not recovered last night.
Police and the Queensland Fire and Rescue Service will attempt to gain access to the crash site this morning.
It is the second time this year a man has died in a vehicle rollover on private property.
Anthony Mattingley, 45, was killed when his 4WD rolled at Tanah Merah on New Year's Day.
Because the crashes occurred on private properties, the men's deaths are not counted towards the official 2010 road toll. |
