Synoptic Situation
A large high over the Tasman Sea is moving slowly east. A vigorous cold front is expected to move over Gulf waters Friday morning, as a new large high moves into the Great Australian Bight and extends a firm ridge across Queensland.
Strong wind warning
for northeast Gulf waters
S/SE winds 25/30 knots developing offshore mid to late Friday morning. Seas rising to 2.5 metres offshore.
These conditions are expected to persist until late Saturday at least.
for southeast Gulf Waters
S/SE winds 25/30 knots developing early Friday morning. Seas rising to 2.5 metres.
These conditions are expected to persist until late Sunday morning.
