【Alex老师原创好文】雅思小作文第二段-总结段的写法

Alex老师：同学们在写雅思图表类小作文的时候，除了开头段和细节段，还需要有一个单独的自然段对图表总特点进行归纳总结。这样一个段落是重要的且必要的。然而考生们常常遗忘或忽略了要写这一段。

我们来看一看雅思前考官Simon的一段话：

考官Simon：“A current examiner recently told me that the most common mistake instudents‘ task 1 essays is that there is no overview. This was also true when Iwas an examiner. An overview in task 1 essays is important as it elaborates theoverall trend of the graph/chart.”

那么，我们在写总结段的时候需要注意哪些事情呢？我们又如何写出一个漂亮的总结段呢？

• 总结段的一些基本要素：
  

Overview这个段落可以放在第二段（紧随开头段），这是我比较喜欢的写法。原因？单纯是因为这个段落太重要了。另外，我们把总结段放在前，细节段在后，也符合了作文由概括（general）到具体（specific）的特点。当然，有点老师/考生喜欢把总结段放在最后，这也是完全可以的。记住，写作作为 Output assessment unit, 很多并没有“标准/唯一答案”哦。

总结段就是对整张图表的总结。我们在这一段之关注 the “big picture”。 换言之，我们只写总趋势/总特点，不写任何具体数据！把具体数据的分析留给后面的细节段。这样总结段和细节段就清晰的区分开了，也使我们全文“从概括到具体”的脉络更加清晰。

我的总结段通常是两句话。一句话总结图表极值（最大/最小），另一句话总结变化最大值。这一点下面会配合图表和范例句进行详细阐述。

总结段的两句话我建议使用相同的句型。例如“it is clear that….it is also evident that…. 当然同学们可以使用一定的句型变换。

• 总结段的写法和一些范例
  

我们先来看极值（最大最小值）。同学们注意了，总结段里的极值与细节段的极值概念上有小小不同。细节段的极值指的是单个点的最大/最小值。总结段的极值指的是整个时间范围内，某一个主体一直/恒定是最大/最小的。所以，这里的极值是线性的。我们来看三个例子：

It is noticeable that beef was the most consumed type of meat for the majority of the 57-year period.

It is clear that car has been and is expected to be  the most popular means of transport for UK commuters throughout the period shown.

The pie charts below show how dangerous waste products are dealt with in three countries.

It is clear that in both the UK and Sweden, the majority of dangerous waste products are buried underground. By contrast, most hazardous wastes in the Republic of Korea are recycled.

现在，我们来看看如何总结“变化最大值”。变化最大值指的是在整个图表的时间区间内，变化（上升/下降）最明显的单个主体。我们还是来看一些例子:

It is also clear that a considerable rise can be seen in the consumption of broilers, with the figure eventually surpassing that of beef.

Also, the numbers of both train and carusers are predicted to increase in 2030 cinversely, commuters taking bus world fall by then.

现在，同学们来做一个小练习。下面的线图已经写出了总结段，里面的空同学们看看是否能够填出来呢？

The graph below shows UK acid rain emissions, measured in millions of tonnes, from four different sectors between 1990 and 2007.

It is clear that the total amount of acid rain emissions in the UK ______ ______ between 1990 and 2007. The most ______decrease was seen in the electricity, gas and water supply sector.
