Dear students,

As part of this course, you are expected to develop your information literacy skills - that is, your ability to find and use information. Information literacy is an especially important skill to have when it comes to working with taxation law as it constantly changing.

To ensure that you do gain some experience in finding taxation law information, you are required to complete an online quiz as part of the course assessment. The quiz is NOW AVAILABLE under the 'Assessment' content area of this Learning@Griffith course website.  You will have access to the quiz until Monday 12 March 5pm - (and if you're leaving it until then, please make sure you start the quiz at least 1.5 hrs before the end time).

Please note that the quiz is not testing your knowledge of the tax law, but rather your ability to complete the tasks/ locate the answerswithin the 1.5 hour time limit of the quiz.

Please familiarise yourself with the relevant databases (the ATO website and ATO Legal Database and CCH Tax database if you prefer)BEFORE starting the quiz.  Make sure that you read Study Guide Ch 1, watch the Research videos, and practise using the databases before commencing the quiz.

Note that you will only get ONE attempt at the quiz, and you must complete it all in one go (you cannot save your answers and come back to it). Therefore make sure that you have secure and reliable internet access and please be careful to not shut down the quiz whilst working on it.

NOTE: Students must work independently - this means that each student must work through the research tasks in the quiz by themselves.
